Abortion Clinic Bloemenhove was established in 1972 and offers specialised care for first and second trimester abortions (up to 22 weeks of pregnancy). We also provide contraceptive help and advice that fit your reproductive choices. Our two clinics are located in Amsterdam and Heemstede.

Our strong team consists of mostly female doctors and nurses who will guide and support you during every step of the procedure. Working closely together, they offer a safe, non-judgemental environment where your decision and motives are respected.

To book, change and cancel an appointment you can call the clinic from Monday to Friday between 9 AM and 4.45 PM.

Prices of abortion treatment

Do you live in the Netherlands? Then you probably won’t have to pay for your abortion treatment. Therefore, always bring your health care ID card or policy document when you visit us.

You are a maximum of 6 days late and your pregnancy is still very early. If you haven’t taken a pregnancy test yet, buy one at the chemist’s or pharmacy. Is the test positive? Book an appointment at one of our clinics. Is the test negative? Take one again in a few days’ time and use your morning urine.

We can offer treatment from the moment your pregnancy is visible on the ultrasound scan, usually between 5 and 6 weeks of pregnancy. Depending on the date of your appointment, you don’t need a referral and the consideration period does not yet apply. If you have already visited your GP, please bring the referral letter with you.

You can choose between the abortion pill and suction curettage. Suction curettage is performed under anaesthetic. You can choose local or light anaesthetic (i.e. light sedation, which means that you sleep briefly).

You are 5 to 6 weeks pregnant

You are a maximum of 16 days late. You have fallen pregnant quite recent; the abortion treatment is also called early abortion (‘overtijdbehandeling’ in Dutch, which literally translates to ‘overdue treatment’). Depending on the date of your appointment, you don’t need a referral and the consideration period does not yet apply. If you have already visited your GP, please bring the referral letter with you.
