Referral and consideration period

If you are more than sixteen days ‘late’, a legal consideration period of five days applies. This means that you must consider your decision to terminate your pregnancy for at least five days, after you have spoken with a doctor about it. Treatment may take place from the sixth day.

We ask you to bring along evidence that you have observed this period of consideration. A confirmatory note from your doctor is sufficient for this purpose. If this is not possible, the first discussion about your decision may take place at the clinic.
